Course Details
DAY 1
(Half-day) - Learner Licence
We guide you through the Class 2 Learner Licence theory, ensuring you understand the road rules and legal requirements for holding a Heavy Vehicle Licence. This step prepares you for the theory test at VTNZ.
DAY 2
(1 day) Logbook (US24089)
The logbook training covers all essential requirements for any heavy vehicle operator, focusing on safety, compliance, and efficiency for your Class 2 Licence.
DAY 3 / 4
(Half-day theory and then a 2-3 hour practical) - Class 2 Licence (US17574)
The practical segment introduces you to handling a heavy vehicle, emphasizing real-world skills needed for the Class 2 Licence. This includes a pre-drive and test to ensure you're ready to operate vehicles in the Heavy Vehicle Licence category confidently.
NB: You may be required to complete your drive on Day 4.

What you need to know
Relevant facts
Once you have passed your Class 2 Licence, you need to take your certificate and apply to VTNZ or AA. This is an additional cost to the student.
Points to note
Students MUST hold a current full car licence and for at least 6 months.
Students are advised to have experience with driving a manual vehicle.
Students MUST have a current DL9 medical in order to sit their learner licence. (This cannot be older than 60 day’s at the time of sitting LL).
The initial cost of the learner licence is covered within the course fees.
If you fail it, you will need to resit the test at your own cost.
